2011 NBA Finals Game 2: Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat
The Miami Heat defeated the Dallas Mavericks 92-84 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals Tuesday night at the AmericanAirlines Arena. LeBron James led the Heat in offense with 24 points and 9 rebounds while Dwyane Wade added 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Now, Miami is in a 1-0 series advantage over Dallas and will have to repeat a win at home on Thursday to be able to force a game 6 just in case Dallas wins all of its 3 home games.
Miami played a good game against the Mavericks, limiting them to just 37 percent shooting. Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points, but shot just 7 of 18 field goals. Miami also delivered a poor performance from the field with 38 percent but their 16 offensive rebounds made the difference coupled with 11 of 24 three-point shooting average.
“Well, again, that was a grind. It’s tough. That’s a very skilled offensive team. We didn’t get into much of an offensive flow the entire game. This was more of probably a defensive battle,” said Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra.
