JACKSON, Ohio – A bizarre shooting Sunday night involved a 4-year-old using a shotgun.

When an angry 4-year-old Ohio boy said he was going to get a gun, everyone thought he was going to grab a toy.

According to the police, the boy fetched a shotgun from a closet and shot his baby sitter. Nathan Beavers, 17, was hospitalized with minor wounds after the attack.

The child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot. Another teen was also hit with shotgun pellets.

“It was an accident. He just thought it was another toy gun. He didn’t appreciate what it could do,” the boy’s father told The Columbus Dispatch.

“The guns are gone out of our house,” he added. “They’re not going to be around with the kids anymore. It’s not worth it.”

Beavers was being treated at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus for pellet wounds to his arm and side. The child has not been charged.
