$500,000 Donation Pledged by Taylor Swift
Country music superstar and multi-awarded singer Taylor Swift will be donating half a million dollars for the flood relief to hometown Nashville, Tennessee.
Swift, 20 years old, made the contribution after an interview in the telethon program Flood Relief with Vince Gill and Friends in the local television station WSMV.
The singer moved to Nashville when she was 14.
Other celebrities appearing at the event are Naomi Judd, Alison Krauss, Darius Rucker, Phil Vassar and Bo Bice.
Toyota Financial Services also announced 25,000 USD donations at the same show.
Benefits will go to the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and the Second Harvest Food Bank all of which will assist relief efforts in Tennessee.
The flood left 30 people dead, thousands of homes damaged and famous landmarks underwater. This includes the Grand Ole Opry House (pictured).
Meanwhile, several musicians, including Brad Paisley and Keith Urban, either lost or have damaged gears left by the flood.
