A tribute to the King of Pop

Cebu City, Philippines – In 2007, over 1,500 prison inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) performed a routine dance by “The King of Pop”, Michael Jackson.

The video showed over 1,500 male inmates emulating Michael Jackson’s dance moves from the original Thriller short film. Jackson fan Crisanto Nierre played the role of the pop star, with the openly gay former pizza chef Wenjiel Resane playing his girlfriend

On Saturday (June 27) the CPDRC inmates created another tribute video for the late Michael Jackson. The inmates started with a prayer before performing a routine of Jackson’s hit songs including “Thriller” where the inmates gained their popularity and made them a YouTube sensation.
