AFC Championship: New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts will have a home court advantage in their battle against the New York Jets on Sunday for the AFC Championship Game. The game is scheduled Sunday, January 24 at the Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana.
These two teams already met just last December where the Jets emerged as the winners with a 29-15 victory. Indianapolis star quarterback Peyton Manning and other Colts starters was pulled out in the second half of the game on December 27. New York took advantage of the scenario and grabbed the opportunity to end Indianapolis’ league-record of 23-game regular-season winning streak.
The winner of the AFC Championship Game will receive the Lamar Hunt Trophy and advances to face the winner of the NFC Championship Game in the Super Bowl.
The NFC Championship Game is also scheduled Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET. The match will be between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints.
UPDATE: Peyton Manning threw for 377 yards and three touchdowns, rallying Indianapolis from an 11-point deficit to beat the Jets 30-17 and reach the Super Bowl for the second time in four years.
