Air France Flight 447 missing

Air France flight 447, an Airbus A330-200 plane disappeared between Brazil and France. According to officials, the plane is carrying 228 individuals (216 passengers and 12 crew members).

The aircraft left Rio de Janeiro on Sunday at 7 p.m. local time and was expected to arrive in Paris on Monday at 0915 GMT (5:15 a.m EDT). French officials said that the contact with the plane was lost at 0220 GMT Monday (1020 p.m. EDT Sunday).

Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, the Air France chief executive, told a news conference: “We are probably facing an air catastrophe.” He said the aircraft went through a thunderstorm with strong turbulence at around 3am BST.

The Brazilian Airforce has confirmed that the flight is missing, and is currently undertaking a search for the flight but an Air France source was quoted as saying that there was “no hope” for survivors.

  • It is really sad to know about this thing. Many airplanes crashed because of the reasons that the plane was face some trouble while in the air and others because of natural disaster.
  • I guess the plane was crashed in a mountain area where many trees are covering the parts of the plane which is the reason that it's hard for them to find it.
