Alec Baldwin Hosts SNL Season Finale; Ties Record

Alec-Baldwin30 Rock star and multi-awarded actor Alec Baldwin hosted the season finale of Saturday Night Live and tied up a record for hosting the show.

Baldwin stepped up to the challenge of hosting the program a week after Betty White rocked the show to new heights. Saturday’s episode is the finale of the show’s 35th season. It is its 1576th episode. White is the show’s oldest host. She is 88 years and 111 days old when she took the helm during the May 8th episode.

The actor has now hosted the show for the 15th time, a record previously held alone by Steve Martin. He had tried to tie the record for years.

However, this is the first time that Baldwin hosted a season finale episode.

Martin greeted Baldwin for the achievement by sending a taped video greeting, which Baldwin interrupted while it was being shown. They both hosted this year’s 82nd Academy Awards.
