Alec Baldwin Removed from American Airlines Flight
Alec Baldwin was reportedly ordered to disembark an American Airlines flight on Tuesday after the actor refused to stop playing a word game on his smart phone.
According to reports, Alec Baldwin was playing “Word with Friends” on his phone when a flight attendant ordered him to stop playing. Airlines usually prohibit the use of electronic gadgets inside the plane for fear that the devices will interfere with radar and other gadgets in the cockpit. Baldwin’s spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, said the plane was at the gate but was still not moving when the “30 Rock” star was ordered to stop playing the game. “Alec was asked to leave the flight for playing ‘Words with Friends’ while parked at the gate. He loves WWF so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it, but he has already boarded another AA flight,” Hiltzik said in a statement.
Baldwin also tweeted about the incident. “Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving,” he said in one of his tweets. “Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950’s find jobs as flight attendants,” he said in another tweet.
American Airlines has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
