‘American Idol’ bids farewell to Casey Abrams (VIDEO)

Casey Abrams Eliminated on American Idol

Casey Abrams has left “American Idol“.

After being saved by the judges five weeks ago, the full-bearded singer/musician was voted off the Fox talent competition despite impressing the panel with his voice during the show’s Carole King week.

This was only the second time the 20-year-old from Idyllwild, California appeared as a bottom-three vote getter–but he didn’t look upset at all this time around. Joining him Thursday at the bottom 3 were gospel singer Jacob Lusk and country crooner Scotty McCreery.

“This is what talent looks like, ladies and gentlemen,” host Ryan Seacrest announced before Casey went out with a stirring performance of “I Put a Spell on You”, which was highlighted by an embrace with his rumored girlfriend, Haley Reinhart.

The top five contestants left on “Idol” are: Lauren Alaina, Lusk, Reinhart, McCreery and James Durbin. The winner will be announced May 25.
