Lil Rounds has made a big impression on the “Idol” judges.

The single mother of three from Memphis closed the show with a powerful take on Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You.”

“Brilliant,” Simon observed, while Paula charmed with the final remark of the night: “I have a sneaking suspicion we’re going to see you for many more lil’ rounds.”

Lil is a sure bet to move onto the final 12. I thought she was overrated during the Hollywood episodes but she was terrific last night.

The top three vote-getters will join previously picked finalists Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace and Michael Sarver.
