‘American Idol’ rocker Paul McDonald voted off (VIDEO)
Paul McDonald, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee, was eliminated from “American Idol” on Thursday night after his rendition of “Old Time Rock and Roll” from the 1983 film “Risky Business” was not well-received by television viewers. He is the first male in the top 13 get the boot.
Joining Paul in the bottom three were Stefano Langone and Haley Reinhart, both of whom, as well as Paul, have been up for elimination in the past. Jennifer Lopez asked the scruffy bearded rocker to sing “Maggie May” as his swan song, and he obliged with a big smile.
Paul is definitely entertaining — but his film-themed performance on Wednesday night wasn’t that great, so I’m not surprised he was voted off.
