Apple iPad Available in the US on April 3; Pre-order Starts March 12
Today Apple announced the availability date for the iPad in the United States. According to Apple, the iPad will hit US shores on April 3 for Wi-Fi models, while the WiFi + 3G types will be in late April.
Countries like Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK will have the iPad also in late April. There’s still no definite date for countries not mentioned above, but apple said it will be available later this year.
For those who want to pre-order (US), mark March 12 on your calendar. You can have it shipped using the online Apple store or reserve a unit to pick it up on April 3, at an Apple retailer near you.
iPad pricing (in US) are still the same as announced in January. The suggested retail price for the Wi-Fi model is at $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB, $699 for 64GB. Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available for a suggested retail price of $629 for 16GB, $729 for 32GB and $829 for 64GB.
International pricing will be announced in April.
