Artist recreates paintings without lifting his pen [VIDEO]
We often want to make things and situations in life easier and simpler. But for Singapore-born artist Chan Hwee Chong, it’s the other way around.
Chan creates impressive portraits without even lifting his pen from the canvas. He starts from the middle point of the paper and draws circles around and around to produce the desired shape and effect.
Chan has drawn Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Van Gogh’s Self Portrait and Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Faber-Castell, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of pens, pencils and other office supplies, even called upon his amazing talents to promote the precision of their products.
