Audi Cup 2009: Manchester United vs. Boca Juniors

German carmaker, Audi, is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a football extravaganza— featuring four of the biggest clubs in the world.

The two-day tournament (July 29 and 30) comprises hosts Bayern Munich, Champions League holders Manchester United, leading Italian outfit AC Milan, and reigning Argentine champions Boca Juniors.

Most United fans will know only the basics about tonight’s challengers. But Sir Alex Ferguson says he’s well aware of the threat Boca pose to the Red Devils’ pursuit of Audi Cup glory. He admits he’s often found himself watching the Argentine club when he’s unable to sleep in the middle of the night.

Game time is 6:30 p.m. CET (12:30 p.m. ET) at the Allianz Arena.

UPDATE: Antonio Valencia scored the winning goal for Manchester United in a 2-1 victory over Boca Juniors. Anderson opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, after Valencia won a free-kick on the right of the Boca penalty area. The Reds will face Bayern Munich in the final.
