Australian Open Quarterfinals: Novak Djokovic vs. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
Djokovic Tsonga Live Stream: World No.3 Novak Djokovic will face 10th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who he beat in four sets in the 2008 Australian Open championship.
“I won this tournament two years ago, so I just look forward to the upcoming challenges,” Djokovic told reporters. “I’m ready to give my 100 percent and try to get a step further.”
The Serb defeated Lukasz Kubot of Poland in less than two hours (6-1 6-2 7-5) to reach the quarterfinals as he nailed 11 aces and 37 winners. Tsonga, on the other hand, took a thrilling five-setter against Nicolas Almagro of Spain to get into this round.
But the Frenchman said the experience of winning a five-set match would help him a lot as he faces Djokovic this evening. Despite losing the final two years ago, the charismatic 24-year-old leads 4-2 in their head-to-head encounter and Djokovic believes the Tsonga of 2010 is a much better player.
UPDATE: Tsonga defeated Djokovic in five sets, falling behind two sets to one before recovering to win 7-6(8) 6-7(5) 1-6 6-3 6-1.
