Bachelor Jake Pavelka, Vienna Girardi Call It Quits

Jake Pavelka will remain a bachelor–at least for now. “The Bachelor” star Pavelka and fiancée Vienna Girardi have decided to part ways, ending an engagement that began on March 1 when he proposed to her in the finale of the hit reality show.

A rep for the couple confirmed the report, but refused to divulge the reason behind the split. “Jake and Vienna have split and appreciate the respect for their privacy at this time,” the rep said. The news comes as a surprise as Pavelka and Girardi recently appeared to be going strong. Girardi, 24, was almost always present during Pavelka’s stint on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Pavelka surprised everyone early this year when he picked Girardi over Tenley Molzahn in “The Bachelor” finale. Pavelka gave Girardi a $50,000 engagement ring at the end of the reality show. There were no signs of trouble before the split, with Pavelka even taking Girardi to Disneyland earlier this month.

All but one of the 14 Bachelor stars have broken up with their “chosen ones.” Only 2009 bachelor Jason Mesnick remains with his partner, Molly Malaney, who finished runner-up but started a relationship with Mesnick after he called off his engagement to winner Melissa Rycroft.
