If you happen to be in Amsterdam and you badly need a shave…
The Barber Amsterdam is a shaving salon housed in a 19th-century shop in the Dutch capital, designed by Ard Hoksbergen, who created a new essence of salon environment that captures the balance between modern architecture, steam-punk interior design, and the needs of the hair dressing industry.
The tubes that stretch across the walls and ceiling of this establishment carry both water and electricity (though not in the same pipes). Hoksbergen compares the pipes to “a giant cobweb” and says natural materials were used to create “a raw but warm atmosphere.”
