Bart Scott could be a Jet soon

Free-agent linebacker Bart Scott could soon be joining the New York Jets.


Reports say that Bart Scott is scheduled to visit the Jets, Friday. New York Jets is expected to make a very good offer and there’s a good chance  that Bart will sign it.

SportingNews reported that Scott’s people were in negotiations with the Ravens deep into Thursday night, and an NFL source indicated that he became the club’s top priority late in the proceedings. Sporting News reported early Friday that the Jets had emerged as the favorite for his services.

Scott spent his first 7 years of his NFL career in Baltimore. He could soon rejoin new Jets head coach Rex Ryan, who had been his defensive coordinator with the Ravens.

News: According to the National Football Post, Bart Scott has signed a multi-year deal with the Jets.
Spin: While the length of the contract is unknown currently, the multi-year contract is worth roughly $8 million per year. Scott will join Rex Ryan, his defensive coordinator in Baltimore, in New York. He will team with David Harris inside to provide the Jets with an impressive linebacker duo.
