Heinz has helped launch an ultra-compact, portable microwave oven that can be powered by a USB port on a computer.

The Beanzawave, billed as the world’s smallest microwave, measures just 7.4 inches tall by 6.2 inches wide and 5.9 inches deep. It was developed to give workers, students and travelers a way to heat up beverages or snacks.

The $160 device is currently only available in prototype form due to the costs of the components required to build on such a small scale. It will only be released commercially if consumer feedback is positive and if component prices drop in the near future.
