An Asian black bear injured a group of tourists before being shot dead by local hunters at a bus station in central Japan.

The incident started at around 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19th in Takayama, Gifu, 220 kilometers west of Tokyo. Four were seriously hurt in the hour-long attack, including a 66-year-old, according to reports.

Injuries included facial bite marks but none were life-threatening.

The animal reportedly ran down from a nearby mountain after attacking several hikers. It is unusual for Asian black bears to attack humans so it is unclear what prompted the creature to go on the rampage.

Such incidents are kinda normal in some safari tourist spots and really rare on such places like a country bus station, the good thing about the incident is that no lives had been taken. Travel guide info sites (http://sihanoukville.info/getting-around/) can be a good source of information about several places.
