Beer festival closed because of beer shortage
An annual beer festival has to be stopped short when the event simply ran out of beer, according to the event’s organizers.
The Herefordshire beer festival, Beer on the Wye, which was already on their fifth year, apparently ran out of beer Sunday, even after an emergency supply of about 18 barrels were delivered on Saturday. The event started Friday of the same week.
“The cider bar was closed at about 9pm and virtually the last drop of beer went by closing time,” according to the Herefordshire Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Reports also said that the Sunday family events were also cancelled because of a lack of food.
The organizers admitted to underestimating the number of people expected to be attending. The CAMRA factored in 3,000 attendees over the three days, but actual figures reported around 3,800 people attended by Saturday night alone.
