Santiago Bernabeu Trophy: Real Madrid vs. Rosenborg


This will be Los Blancos’ final friendly, as they look to finish their preparations for the new season of La Liga. Tonight, Real Madrid will have one last chance to impress when they take on Norwegian side Rosenborg in the Santiago Bernabeu Trophy match.

With all tickets sold, the Estadio Bernabeu is on schedule to be filled to the top for this evening’s clash, as travelers and locals will be eager to assess the state of Los Blancos’ play.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema, Xabi Alonso and several others have all been added to a team that finished second in the league last year. Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and defensive midfielder Mahamadou Diarra both return from several months out injured to join the squad.

The Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu is a friendly tournament dedicated to the memory of long-time Real Madrid president Santiago Bernabeu.

The match kicks-off at 10 pm local time (4 pm ET).

UPDATE: Karim Benzema scored two goals as Real Madrid beat Rosenborg 4-0. Los Blancos made it six consecutive Trofeo Bernabeu victories by crushing the Norwegian side in front of home crowd. Lassana Diarra and Raul also scored for Real.
