Amanda Brumfield, the oldest daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton, has been arrested in Florida on charges of child neglect resulting in the death of an infant she was babysitting.

According to TMZ, she was taken into custody on Friday.

Brumfield, 29, was allegedly babysitting a 1-year-old on October 3, 2008 when the child died after falling from a playpen. However, the Ocoee Police Department isn’t buying the story.

According to authorities, the call for help didn’t come until two and a half hours after the original fall. An autopsy determined the child suffered a fractured skull and a subdural hematoma due to blunt trauma.

Brumfield is Thornton’s child with his first wife, Melissa Gatlin. The 29-year-old faces charges of neglect of a child causing harm or disability

Thornton’s publicist, Arnold Robinson, said the actor is estranged from his daughter “and has had no contact with her for quite some time.”
