Five Birmingham police officers were fired Tuesday night for a January 2008 beating of an unconscious suspect after a roadway chase.
A patrol car camera caught everything, until one officer noticed it and turned it off.
The video shows police officers violently beating 38-year-old Anthony Warren with fists, feet and a billy club.
Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper and Mayor Larry Langford held a press conference Wednesday to announce the police department’s firings and added that further disciplinary measures will be taken against supervisors who failed to report the incident to higher-ups.
