Blake Griffin Jumps Over Car to Win Slam Dunk Contest (VIDEO)

Blake Griffin didn’t execute the most difficult dunk of the night, but when you have a car as a prop for your final attempt and do it in front of your home crowd, there is no doubt you’ll win the All-Star Slam Dunk Contest.

Griffin jumped over a parked car, or more precisely over the hood of the car, in front of the rim and caught an alley-oop pass from Baron Davies from inside the vehicle for a two-handed dunk to win his final showdown hands down over Washington Wizards’ JaVale McGee. Prior to the attention-grabbing final dunk, which Griffin performed with a gospel choir in tow, the Los Angeles Clippers star whipped up an up-to-the-elbow dunk that was similar to what Vince Carter did in 2000, only harder as he caught the ball in mid-air after bouncing it off the backboard.

Despite all the attention that Griffin got, it was McGee who performed what may be considered as the most difficult dunk in years. In his first attempt, McGee brought the house down when he dunked on two rims posted several feet from each other. In the final, McGee, after seeing what Griffin did and knowing that the contest was a foregone conclusion, delivered a simple off the backboard dunk.
