Bolt Sprints to 200 Gold

Disqualified last week for a false start in the 100-meter finale, Usain Bolt made sure that no repeat would occur as the Jamaican sprinter won the 200-meter gold on Saturday at the World Championship in South Korea.

Bolt finished the 200-meter race in 19.40 seconds to defeat American Walter Dix and Frenchman Christophe Lemaltre. “Good run, I wanted to go out there and make up for the 100,” said Bolt, referring to his disastrous disqualification last weekend that allowed compatriot Yohan Blake to win the gold medal. The win was sweet redemption for Bolt, who had been struggling to regain his old fearsome form after coming back from injury. “This season was harder than last season because I had to work my way back up,” he said.

Bolt will try to make it a double-gold haul on Sunday when he leads the Jamaican team in the 4X100 relay.
