Boy, 11, charged with killing father’s pregnant girlfriend
A Pennsylvania boy allegedly killed his father’s pregnant girlfriend— then calmly got on the bus and went to school, authorities said Saturday.
Lawrence County police said Jordan Brown, 11, was charged with one count each of criminal homicide and homicide of an unborn child, the New York Daily News reported.
Kenzie Houk, 26, who was 8 months pregnant, was shot with a shotgun while she was lying in bed Friday morning in the family’s farmhouse in Wampum, the newspaper said.
“It’s tragic,” said a relative who did not want to be named. “They were to be married. He was jealous.”
Brown was picked up from school by Pennsylvania State Police officers on Friday, who found Houk’s body after her 4-year-old daughter alerted tree cutters to the fact her mother was dead.
The young suspect’s father, identified by family members as Christopher Brown, was at work at the time of the shooting, relatives said.
“I wouldn’t know anybody in the whole world who would want to kill a 26-year-old beautiful daughter like mine and take a child,” Houk’s father, Jack, told MSNBC. “I don’t know who would be crazy enough and nutty enough to want to do something like that — has got to be sick. I hope they find out who it is and they give them life or whatever the got to do with them, it’s horrifying.”
The boy’s lawyer said he’ll try to get the case moved to juvenile court.
