Boy Survives Libyan Plane Crash

A Libyan airliner crashed minutes before touching down in Tripoli on Wednesday, killing 103 people on board. However, despite the tragic news, rescue workers had something to cheer about after a 10-year-old boy was found alive.

The 10-year-old Dutch boy was found barely conscious and was rushed to a nearby hospital to repair multiple fractures in his legs. Doctors said the boy is now stable after undergoing successful surgery.

The Afriqiyah Airways Airbus was about to land in Tripoli after a seven-hour flight from Johannesburg. Manifesto provided by the Royal Dutch Tourism Board showed that 61 of the passengers were Dutch, who were on their way back to the Netherlands after spending the spring holidays in South Africa.

Authorities have yet to release the names of the victims. The identity of the lone survivor also remains unknown. The boy is the second lone survivor of a plane crash after a young girl was found alive in the wreckage of a Yemenia airliner that crashed near the Comoros Islands.
