Brazil vs. South Africa FIFA Confederations Cup Semifinals

Tonight, five-time World Cup champions Brazil and host nation South Africa will collide in an enchanting match at the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg.

Brazil is the strongest  team in this year’s edition of the Confederations Cup and they will definitely score a couple of goals in this match. The South Americans thrashed tournament rivals Italy 3-0 to advance to the semifinals undefeated, having won all three of their matches to qualify top of their group, 6 points clear of second-placed USA.

The Bafana Bafana squad made it here with a lot of luck. Despite being in an easy group against Iraq and New Zealand, they failed to beat the Asian Champions and ended up praying that New Zealand win against Iraq.

However, the South Africans are desperate to lift their fans’ optimism ahead of next year’s World Cup, and beating one of the best teams in the world would certainly achieve this.

The winner will face the United States, who defeated European champions Spain 2-0 in Wednesday’s first semi-final in Bloemfontein.

The game starts at 20:30 local time (02:30 ET).

UPDATE: A brilliant free-kick from Daniel Alves with just two minutes left at the Confederations Cup on Thursday sent Brazil into the final and left host nation South Africa dejected. Watch the video here.
