This is why America is a beautiful country. Who would have thought 40 years ago that this will happen? Jim Morrison must be proud.
_____________________
legal marijuana

While Denver and Breckenridge may be the first cities in the United States to eliminate criminal and civil penalties for marijuana, they ARE NOT BY ANY MEANS the first cities to decriminalize marijuana. Currently there are 20 other states that have laws within them that have decriminalized marijuana. They are Alaska, Arkansas, California, Kansas, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin. In fact, for you young whipper-snappers who bash us old folks and make statements like "you old farts need to move over, you haven't done nothing for the cause, we are making it happen" you are all full of yourselves... The first cities to pass decriminalization laws dates back to Berkley, CA in 1973, although it was struck down in court. Ann Arbor, Michigan was the first place that effective laws of decriminalization occurred. So please people, do some research before you write articles that are not factual but give you credit for securing a victory with regard to something that began to happen long before many of you were born.
