Brett Favre Arrives in Minnesota, Vikings Return Next?
The Brett Favre saga continues, and it appears the often-on-the-verge-of-retirement quarterback is headed for one more season with the Minnesota Vikings.
Favre and his private plane landed in Minnesota on Tuesday, as both fans and media welcomed the prized quarterback, who only a couple of weeks ago indicated that his long career was over when he announced that his injured left ankle has not healed as expected. He had said during the summer that his return for a 20th NFL season would hinge on the health of his left ankle, which he injured during the Vikings’ NFC championship loss in January to eventual Super Bowl winners New Orleans Saints.
The Vikings, who sent several emissaries to convince Favre to return, have yet to announce if the 40-year-old quarterback’s arrival means that he would return this season. Favre unretired last season to sign a two-year contract with the Vikings, helping the team reach the NFC final while also recording career bests in completion percentage, quarterback rating, and fewest interceptions.
