Britain’s Got Talent: Ventriloquist Gareth Oliver almost made it (video)

Calderdale ventriloquist Gareth Oliver almost made it through to the next round of Britain’s Got Talent after receiving enough public votes to get into the top three.

However, the panel had to decide between Gareth and singer Shaun Smith for the next place in the final.

Simon Cowell was critical of the 28-year-old comedy impersonator. He blasted him as someone who should be on the bottom of the bill in a tiny nightclub and voted for Shaun with no hesitation.

But Piers Morgan opted for Gareth. With the casting vote, Amanda said: “I completely agree with Piers when he says this show is a variety show. But I have to go with who I think did the better performance and my heart is telling me the person I’m going to put through to the final is Shaun.”

Here’s the video of Gareth’s performance on Britain’s Got Talent.

And here are the results of the second semi-final.
