Britney Spears to Make “Glee” Appearance
Britney Spears is set to become the next big-name celebrity to have her music featured on “Glee,” and she also gets to appear in at least two scenes, the show’s creator revealed on Tuesday.
Ryan Murphy said in an interview on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show that “Britney, I think 100 percent, is going to be on the episode. She is going to join us for a couple of scenes.” The Britney Spears episode is scheduled to be shown in the upcoming second season of “Glee.” Murphy assured that the episode will delve on what Spears has contributed to pop culture without hitting on the personal problems that the singer faced in 2007 and 2008.
Murphy said the episode would be “reverential…and so kind…We are handling Britney with kid gloves.” Spears follows on the steps of Madonna and Lady Gaga, whose songs were featured on the show’s first season.
Spears has slowly recovered from the meltdown of his personal life, releasing a comeback album in 2008, “Circus,” and staging a successful tour that eventually made her one of the highest-paid celebrities under 30 years old in the period from June 2009-June 2010.
