Bryce Dallas Howard joins ‘Eclipse’ as Victoria
Ron Howard’s daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard will step into the role of Victoria Cullen in the third installment of Summit Entertainment’s Twilight franchise. She will be replacing Rachelle Lefevre, who plays the red-headed vampire in the first two films.
Summit attributed the move to scheduling conflicts. Lefevre is committed to begin shooting indie drama Barney’s Version opposite Dustin Hoffman on August 17 in Quebec, which happens to be the same production start date as Eclipse in Vancouver.
“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” Summit’s Erik Feig said. “Rachelle brought ‘Victoria’ to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”
Howard, 28, has starred in Terminator Salvation and Spider-Man 3 as well as M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village and Lady in the Water.
I wonder how Twilight fans feel about this mid-saga replacement?
