A 33-year old man claiming that he is wheelchair-bound was caught on camera dancing with bunny mascots from a local amusement park in Sweden. Police arrested him and was sentenced to three years in jail.

The man was convicted by a Halmstad District Court along with his family, who was helping him make his fake claims. His father will suffer the same terms in jail while his mother and sister were in suspended sentences. The man was asked to pay a total of 3,001,741 kronor ($400,000) in claimed benefits. The Hallandsposten was the first to report the story.

A tip from a neighbor that the family is in a fraud scheme led the police to search their house. They found a picture of the man dancing with the bunny mascot of Liseberg Amusement Park in Gothenburg.

The man said that he has trouble turning in bed, eating and getting from place to place. His family was supposed to be his personal assistants. This lasted from 2005, and the doctor who looked after him back then couldn’t find any reason as to why he cannot walk. He simply accepted the convicted man’s claims.
