California representative George Radanovich to step down in 2010
The Representative for the 19th District of California George Radanovich has announced that he will no longer run for congress in 2010 to concentrate on his wife’s battle against ovarian cancer. He would have served 15 years when he steps down. Radanovich has endorsed Jeff Denham to replace him.
Radanovich was first elected in 1995 to represent California’s Central Valley district, which is composed of the counties of Fresno, Madera, Tuolumne, Stanislao and Mariposa–Radanovich’s home county. He is a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
His wife Ethie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a few years ago. They have a son named King.
The house member has asked Denham to run for the position that he will be vacating. Denham replied by stating that he is surprised and honored by his endorsement.
