Canon unveils Rebel T2i aka 550D
Canon has released a brand new DSLR, the EOS Rebel T2i (aka 550D). This brand new EOS will “replace” its older sibling, the EOS Rebel T1i (500D). But according to dpreview, Rebel T1i will still be available for the rest of 2010.
The Canon EOS 550D sports slightly different design compared to 500D like a little button tweaks and dials but the specs are way different. Under the hood, this new product is very good too, with a resolution boost of up to 18 megapixels, a full HD movie mode (1920 x 1080 – up to 30 fps, 720P at 60/50 fps), manual controls, an external mic socket, and a new widescreen (3:2) LCD panel.
Canon EOS 550D will hit the U.S. market in March for an estimated retail price of $800 (body only) and $900 (with a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens kit).
