Capcom and Namco Announce Crossover Games
Rival video game developers Capcom and Namco have announced at the 2010 San Diego Comic Con that they will be releasing again crossover games featuring the characters and the universe from Tekken and Street Fighter.
There will be two games to be released, Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter.
Street Fighter X Tekken will bring Tekken characters into the Street Fighter universe, thus will use Capcom-style controls.
Tekken X Street Fighter will bring Street Fighter characters into the Tekken universe, thus will use Namco-style controls.
Both games will be released for the consoles Playstation 3 and XBox 360. Release dates are still unknown.
This is not the first time that the two made a partnership for a crossover game. In 2005, the video game Namco X Capcom was released for the Playstation 2 console. However, this was a tactical-action-RPG and has included characters from different game series of Capcom and Namco. It was only released in Japan.
The two games are thus the first crossover games to be released by both companies in the beat’em up genre.
