Carrie Underwood bags Entertainer of the Year award
Carrie Underwood emerged supreme in the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards as she got the title entertainer of the year.
She had beat other country music sensations such as Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesny, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Keith Urban, and the Zac Brown Band.
The American Idol star opened the night with a bang while she sang with Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Charlie Daniels and Fogerty the hit song Travelin’ Band.
“Thank you God. Praise the Lord,” Underwood exclaimed as she went the stage to claim her trophy. “Thank you country music. God bless you country music.”
Since her win at American Idol, the country singer has won awards and has made her mark in the music scene. She is set to marry her hockey star fiance Mike Fisher and is currently working on her wedding details as she goes on the road with Play on Tour.
