Cash for Clunkers suspended?

The White House released a statement on Friday that the “cash for clunkers” would be alive at least through the weekend, according to USA Today.

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said: “If you were planning on going to buy a car this weekend, using this program, this program continues to run.”

Reps. Sander Levin, D-Mich., and Betty Sutton, D-Ohio said that they will introduce legislation to provide an additional $2 billion funding into the scheme after they were assured that it would continue.

Cash for Clunkers is a program set to promote recycling and reuse, significantly decrease carbon emissions due to faulty automobiles, and provide qualified US consumers with the opportunity to get a newer, better car with substantial help from the government.
