Deron Williams sprains left ankle

Utah Jazz point guard Deron Williams left the pre-season game Saturday night against Chicago Bulls in the first quarter after spraining his left ankle.
The accident happened when Williams attempted a 3-point shot with 5:39 left on the clock and landed awkwardly on Derrick Rose’s foot. Deron was carried off the hard court by Miles and Ronnie Brewer and headed to the locker room.
Utah Jazz said X-rays were negative, but said he wouldn’t return to the game and didn’t made any statement about how severe was the injury.

Kobe Bryant: I feel fantastic

Phil Jackson suggested earlier this week that Kobe still needs some legwork after a hectic summer. The Lakers superstar presented a credible 27-minute rebuttal that seemed to prove he’s just all right.
Bryant led his team to a 108-104 victory over Spanish power FC Barcelona as part of two-day exhibition tournament. He scored a team-high 28 points on 10-for-14 shooting and then poked some fun on Jackson.
“It’s the other way around, to be honest with you. I think Phil’s a little tired,” Bryant said. “I feel fantastic.”

Federer makes the most money

And the richest is . . . Roger.
Swiss tennis superstar Roger Federer has become the richest tennis player in history according to ATP News.
With career prize money earnings listed as a staggering $US43.29 million he has overtaken Pete Sampras of the USA.
Federer will take his earnings to $US43.5 million should he win the ATP Madrid Masters. Sampras earned $US43.27 million in his career.
Federer and Sampras, with 13 and 14 Grand Slams win each, stand almost $ US12 million clear of third-placed Andre Agassi.

Beckham Still an Asset

Beckham was only brought on for the final 10 minutes of England’s 5-1 win but still had time to set up a goal for Wayne Rooney and again highlighted his ability to cross a deadly ball into the danger area. Lampard has been impressed with the attitude of the Los Angeles Galaxy star who at 33 may no longer be a first choice under Fabio Capello, but can still be an impact player from the bench.

Brazil’s Ronaldo in talks with PSG

Brazilian forward Ronaldo, has received an offer to join Paris Saint-Germain but has also not ruled out a future partnership with Robinho at Manchester City.
The three-time FIFA World Player of the Year is recovering from a career-threatening knee injury. Ronaldo sustained the injury eight months ago while playing in Serie A for Milan but was released by the Italian club this summer.
