Pastor dead in Maryville church shooting

A pastor has been killed and other people injured in a shooting at a church in Illinois. The gunman walked into a service at the First Baptist Church in Maryville and exchanged words with Rev. Fred Winters and then shot him with a .45 caliber handgun, the state police said.

Small plane crashes near San Clemente Island

A small civilian aircraft crashed Friday off the Southern California coast. The U.S Coast Guard located floating debris and an oil slick in the ocean yesterday and was searching for survivors after the plane went down 30 miles off Oceanside.
