Cavs beat Magic 112-102 to stay alive in NBA East
LeBron James put on an incredible performance in the fourth quarter to will the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 112-102 victory against the Orlando Magic in Game 5 on Thursday night.
The league MVP scored 17 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter and rounded off a stunning triple-double with 14 rebounds and 12 assists, to cut Orlando’s lead in the Eastern Conference finals to 3-2.
Mo Williams added 24 points for the Cavs and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 16.
Hedo Turkoglu led the Magic with 29, and Dwight Howard notched his customary double- double with 24 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out with 2:22 remaining while trying to stop one of James’ drives to the basket.
Rashard Lewis added 15 points for Orlando and Mickael Pietrus contributed 13 off the bench. Rafer Alston, who scored 26 points in Game 4, managed just three points on 1-of-10 shooting.
The Magic will try again to eliminate the Cavaliers Saturday when Game 6 is played in Orlando.
