Celebrity Financial Adviser Arrested for Fraud
Financial adviser to celebrities, Kenneth Starr, was arrested Thursday, May 27, for charges of a $30 million fraud on his clients.
Starr, 66, was arrested from his 7.5 million dollar Manhattan condominium, after his wife Dianne Passage, told federal agents that he is hiding upstairs in a closet.
Celebrities who had the services of Starr include Uma Thurman, Wesley Snipes (pictured), Sylvester Stallone, Al Pacino, playwright Neil Simon, directors Mike Nichols, Martin Scorsese and Nora Ephron, illusionist David Blaine and photographer Annie Leibovitz.
Thurman was previously forced to confront Starr when she learned that a million dollars has gone missing from her account.
Meanwhile, actor Snipes is hoping that his three-year sentence for tax-charge conviction might be reversed following Starr’s arrest.
Starr has been a prosecution witness during Snipes’ 2008 trial. In his testimony back then he declared that he informed Snipes that he needed to file tax returns which contradicts an advice that the actor got from an anti-tax outfit. His testimony was seen as a major reason for the conviction of the actor.
