Chace Crawford Charged with Pot Possession
Chace Crawford of TV’s “Gossip Girl” could face up to six months in jail after he was formally charged for marijuana possession related to his June 4 arrest in Texas. If found guilty, Crawford could spend up to six months time in jail or pay a $2,000 fine, or both.
A spokesman for a court in Texas’ Collins County said no date has been set yet for the actor’s trial. Crawford was arrested with a friend after police found less than two ounces of marijuana in the actor’s car. Crawford had said that he was not smoking the pot and it was his friend’s.
Crawford, who posted bail after his arrest and was immediately released, allegedly used pot while he was in Pepperdine University as claimed by a frat mate quoted by Us Magazine. “In college, we use to cut class and go lie on the beach and smoke weed,” the frat mate claimed.
