UEFA Champions League: Arsenal vs. Olympiacos Piraeus
The Gunners, who host Greek side Olympiakos Piraeus in their second Group H match tonight, are definitely the hot favorites.
Unfortunately Arsenal will be without Nicklas Bendtner after he suffered minor bruises when his car went off the road and collided with the hard shoulder fence and a tree. The Danish striker is expected to be available for the game with Blackburn on Sunday.
The Erythrolefki are unbeaten so far this season, having not only won each of their five European matches without conceding a goal, but have also won four and drawn one of their Super League games to date.
The Greeks have been in the UEFA Champions League for 10 straight years. Their game is primarily oriented on getting crosses in the box where they have a good presence, so it will be vital for the Gunners to block their game.
The match kicks-off at 7:45 p.m. BST (2:45 p.m. ET).
UPDATE: Robin van Persie and Andrei Arshavin struck late on to give the Gunners a 2-0 win over Olympiakos. Arsene Wenger hailed his players labeling the level of their performance “outstanding”.
