UEFA Champions League: FC Barcelona vs. Rubin Kazan

FC Barcelona hosts Rubin Kazan in the UEFA Champions League tonight and coach Pep Guardiola will be hoping that Lionel Messi and company will be back to their top form after a mediocre performance against Valencia.

Barca’s perfect record in the Spanish League ended Saturday after being held to a goalless draw by Los Che. But they still sit on the top of CL’s Group F with four points, while Rubin is last with one point.

The Catalan giants are unbeaten in their last nine Champions League matches and have lost just once in eight games against Russian clubs.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains doubtful for tonight’s clash after injuring his knee on international duty last week. Bojan Krkic has resumed training and will be fit to play, but Thierry Henry is likely to miss the game as well.

The match kicks-off at 20:45 CET (2:45 p.m. ET).

UPDATE: Barca suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat at home to Russian side Rubin Kazan in their Champions League clash Tuesday night. The Catalan giants were on top in the second period but it was Gokdeniz Karadeniz who struck last to give the Tatars a famed win into their campaign.
