UEFA Champions League: Inter Milan vs. Dynamo Kyiv

The Black-Blues take on Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev tonight and will need a victory if they are to overtake their rivals in the UEFA Champions League table.

The Italians were pleased after holding Barca to a 0-0 draw in their opener but somewhat disappointed with its 1-1 tie in Rubin in their recent European outing. But in this fixture, Jose Mourinho’s side has a huge advantage against the Ukrainians.

Inter and Dynamo met in the 2003/04 group stage. Christian Vieri’s 90th-minute header earned the Italians a 2-1 victory at San Siro after Daniele Adani and Serhiy Fedorov had traded first-half goals.

In fact, Dynamo’s only win on Italian soil to date was a 3-0 default win over AS Roma in the 2004/05 season. The points were awarded to the Ukrainian side following the game’s half-time abandonment after a referee was struck by a missile thrown from the crowd.

The match kicks-off at 20:45 CET (2:45 p.m. ET).

UPDATE: Nerazzurri stretched their winless run in the Champions League to eight after drawing 2-2 with Dynamo Kiev.
