Champions League: Manchester United vs Schalke Live Stream [2nd Leg]

Manchester United vs Schalke Live Stream

Manchester United vs Schalke Live Stream: German side FC Schalke 04 will try to overturn a 2-0 deficit when they face Manchester United in tonight’s UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg at Old Trafford (kick-off: 19:45 BST). At stake is a place in the final, against FC Barcelona, at Wembley on May 28.

It seems unlikely but then no one predicted the Royal Blues would beat current champions Inter Milan 5-2 in the first leg of their quarter-final at the San Siro. Schalke boss Ralf Rangnick said his team will take inspiration from United’s amazing comeback against Bayern Munich to win the European title twelve years ago. That final in Barcelona is best remembered for the Red Devils scoring two last-minute goals in stoppage time to win 2–1, after having trailed for most of the game.

Schalke’s fighting spirit has no doubt been boosted by the knowledge that Sir Alex Ferguson will rest some key players, including Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs, in preparation for Sunday’s Premier League encounter against Chelsea. Rooney, who helped the Red Devils to a 2-0 win over Schalke in the first leg, has a small hamstring problem and Ferguson does not want to risk the 25-year-old striker.

United’s lead at the top of the EPL table was reduced to three points following their 1-0 defeat at Arsenal and Chelsea’s 2-1 triumph over Tottenham. The Blues would go ahead on goal difference with victory, with just two games of the season left.

Schalke’s task at the Theatre of Dreams is immense, but any team capable of scoring seven goals against Inter cannot be easily defeated. Will the Germans make a huge comeback? Have your say below.

UPDATE: Manchester United beat Schalke 4-1 on Wednesday night (6-1 on aggregate) to reach the Champions League final for the third time in four seasons. The Red Devils will meet FC Barcelona in the final at Wembley on May 28.
