Charles Phillips Admits Past Affair
A day after billboards have publicly broadcasted an illicit affair between Oracle Corporation co-president Charles Phillips and YaVaughnie Wilkins, the man in the middle of the story admitted the affair.
“I had an 8½-year serious relationship with YaVaughnie Wilkins,” a statement from Phillips said. “My divorce proceedings began in 2008. The relationship with Ms. Wilkins has since ended and we both wish each other well.”
The billboard was a campaign of Wilkins against Phillips. The website indicated in the posters, which were already removed, was supposedly a gift to Phillips who recently turned 50.
Phillips is married to Karen Phillips. They have a son.
The statement release coincided with an announcement from the European Union regulatory commission that the long-awaited purchase of Sun Microsystems by Oracle Corporation would be unconditionally approved.
In February 2009, Phillips was appointed as a member to the President Barack Obama‘s Economic Recovery Advisory Board which provides the President and his administration advices and counsels in addressing America’s economic downturn.
